Introduction
Welcome to my web site.
My name is Stefan Sullivan. I am a student at University of Miami in Music Engineering with a BFA from Carnegie Mellon University in Music Composition with Electronic and Computer Technology. This website serves as a means for providing information about the training and education I've had in both music and engineering, as well as describe any projects/publications that I am working on.
I am a composer, recording engineer and electrical engineer-in-training. I compose music mostly for small ensembles and have experimented with electronic music. I continue to explore true preformance of electronic music, as well as how to include electronic synthesis into performances with acoustic instruments. I've worked as a recording engineer and/or producer for a variety of musical styles, including varying genres of "classical" music, as well as various popular genres.
My Vision
I believe that music should be easily available to anybody. The ability of an artist to easily expose their music to a large audience will enable them to, not only find a fan base, but provide artistic release. By providing consumers easy access to as much music as possible, and as high of quality music as possible, consumers are enabled to make more informed decisions about their musical preferences, as well as have access to better music, and in doing so, learn more about what makes good music.
About this website
This website serves to both provide access to the music that I compose as well as provide information about my skills as a recording engineer, and my efforts in electrical engineering. I hope to continue to explore electronic synthesis in my composition, which I hope will inform my studies in music engineering. I also hope to continue to explor electrical engineering topices (especially Digital Signal Processing), which I hope will educate my composition. This will hopefully lead to better understand what I do (and why it is important), as well as provide information about other parts of the industry.
